About Gymkhana

Gymkhana is inspired by the elite clubs of India where members of high society socialise, eat, drink, and play sport.

In 2024, Gymkhana was awarded Two Michelin stars for its classic and contemporary Indian cuisine, after its first star in 2014.

The rooms

The Restaurant

Gymkhana is split over two floors offering two distinctive looks and feels, with the restaurant’s ground floor and bar resplendent in tones of jade green, polished dark timber and rich printed fabrics. Inspired by the residential mansions of Kolkata and Pondicherry.

Down a mirrored staircase, the lower ground floor references subtle elements of north-Indian architecture and a vivid colour palette of peach and Kashmiri chill red.

Throughout the restaurant, the interiors are elevated by an array of original Gymkhana features including hunting trophies from the Maharaja of Jodhpur and Grandmother Sethi’s barometer.

Restaurant Bar

The restaurant bar, on the lower ground floor, specialises in our collection of Club Cocktails, which showcase the finest Indian ingredients and flavour combinations, offering a modern Indian interpretation on renowned classics.

Private events & group dining

PRIVATE VAULTS

Gymkhana offers an exclusive vault experience for groups of up to 10, perfect for intimate dinners.

SEMI-PRIVATE AND EXCLUSIVE HIRE

For larger groups, we offer semi-private hire of Gymkhana’s lower ground floor (with or without the private dining vaults) as well as exclusive hire of the whole restaurant.

42 COCKTAIL LOUNGE

Located above Gymkhana is 42, our exclusive cocktail lounge. 42 is available for drinks and canapé receptions.

42 is Gymkhana’s cocktail lounge, located at 42 Albemarle Street – where Gymkhana also resides. Guests enter through the door neighbouring Gymkhana.

The drinks list at 42 features house cocktails, made with carefully sourced Indian ingredients and flavours, as well as a selection of elevated seasonal classics. Extensive Old & Rare whisk(e)y and Champagne selections complete the list.
